Her recent exploit on the course involved shooting a six-under-par 138 at an important 36-hole qualifier at the Somerset Country Club. Glowingly, her impressive performance was made even better after her latest condition was revealed, wich drew parallels with former Tennis great Serena Williams.

Amy Olsen bags qualifier while being six months pregnant

The 30-year-old pro is due in September this year, but that didn’t deter her from battling against others for a spot in the U.S. Women’s Open. Olsen was at the Somerset Club in Mendota Heights, where she outpaced every other golfer to finish top two in the rankings.

More importantly, the outstanding performance was merited after fans discovered news of her pregnancy after the event. Due to give birth to her first child, Olsen bagged three birdies on her front and back nines to finish 66 in her final round.

Impressively, her act drew parallels with 23-time Grand Slam Tennis champion, Serena Williams, who also played a tournament while being pregnant with her first child, Olympia. The actions had a profound effect on the sporting world, with the former great applauded for her efforts.

Olsen’s achievement earns her ticket to the U.S. Women’s Open

Olsen’s main motive behind a good finish at the qualifier was to earn a spot at this year’s U.S. Women’s Open. After her latest heroics, the 30-year-old has indeed qualified for the prestigious event, to be held at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Course.

It was a downpour of emotions for Olsen, who hasn’t found any victories on the tour yet. But achieving participation at the major championship despite her pregnancy has ingrained new found hope in her career.

“I wanted a shot at it because it’s Pebble,” Olson told the media press on Monday. “That was the big motivation and it’ll be my last tournament before the baby comes, so it’s a good way to go out.”
