On Sunday, after a nearly three-year wait, Charley Hull finally ended her winless drought. The English star clinched her third LPGA title at the 2025 Kroger Queen City Championship in Ohio, overcoming not only a tough field but also a string of painful injuries and health setbacks. And how does she plan to celebrate? Not with champagne showers or grand parties, but rather with a heartfelt gesture that speaks volumes about what matters most to her right now.

In the press conference following her emotional win, Hull was asked how she planned to celebrate the hard-fought triumph. “To be honest, I’ve had a nice surprise by my boyfriend in London tomorrow,” she said, her face lighting up. “We are going for a nice massage and going for a nice bit of food with Annabelle and Alfie. Annabelle plays on the Ladies European Tour, so we’re going on a little date night, but that’s going to feel extra special so we’ll just turn it into a little bit of a celebration. But it will be nice,” Hull told the media.
English golfer Annabel Dimmock, a longtime friend of Hull, will join her at the event. While Hull has kept her boyfriend’s identity private, his support has clearly been key to her return to the winner’s circle. For Charley Hull, that celebration with her support system is well-earned. Hull hadn’t lifted a trophy since her 2022 win at the Volunteers of America Classic. And while many expected that drought to end sooner, given her recent form, including runner-up finishes at the 2025 AIG Women’s Open and the Aramco Houston Championship, few realized the physical toll her journey had taken in the months leading up to Sunday.
“It’s been a rocky couple of months to be fair,” Hull admitted when asked about how she still managed to pull off the win despite her recent physical state. “Obviously, fainting at Evian, doing my back, and then tearing the ligament in my ankle. I sound like a bit of a car crash,” she added. Her troubles began at the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship, where Hull collapsed mid-round due to sudden nausea and had to withdraw immediately. The setback was only the beginning.
A few days later, while attempting to lift something heavy into her car, she sustained a muscle tear in her back. And just as she was beginning to recover, disaster struck again, a torn ankle ligament that forced her out of the PIF London Championship in August. Despite that, she still showed up to support and cheer for her fellow players.

And now, barely a few weeks on, Hull showed remarkable poise and grit. Rather than derailing her momentum, the forced downtime gave her a chance to reset mentally. “I don’t know. I suppose pain is just a weakness of the mind. Probably does me a bit of a favor sometimes because I end up doing too much, too much gym, practice, and overthinking. It’s given me time to chill and that’s probably what I needed,” she added. That renewed clarity and balance seem to be paying off, and she’s already looking ahead.
Where will Charley Hull play next?
With the win and her current momentum, Charley Hull isn’t slowing down anytime soon. She revealed that she’ll be heading to Wentworth for a relaxed round on Tuesday, simply to take in the pristine conditions after the 2025 BMW PGA Championship wrapped up there over the weekend. “I’m playing Wentworth because I have the BMW PGA this week, and I am playing there on Tuesday because it’s my home golf course,” she said. “The greens are going to be pure; I’m actually looking forward to playing that as well,” Hull added with excitement.
Charley Hull will most likely skip the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, taking place this week from September 19 – 21 at the Pinnacle Country Club. She will instead tee it up next at the Lotte Championship, from October 1-4 in Oahu. It’s a tournament that Hull hasn’t played in recent years. With her game trending in the right direction and her confidence renewed after the win in Ohio, the decision to space out her schedule reflects a more measured approach to managing both form and fitness.
After a stretch of injuries and close calls, Hull now seems intent on maintaining momentum without overloading her calendar, and the Lotte Championship will give her time to sharpen her game, continue her physical recovery, and arrive fresh, both mentally and physically, as she builds toward the final events of the LPGA season.
