This is a great year for Brooks Koepka professionally and personally. After a good run on LIV Golf and winning the PGA Championship, two weeks ago he welcomed his first child, a son with his model wife, Jena Sims.

But the happy lives of the new parents were soon clouded with worries as they had to leave their son behind in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for specialized and intensive care. But after days of heavy rain, the sun is finally shining and Sims has a happy update to share about their child. 

Jena Sims shared a big update about her new-born son’s health

In May, Koepka and Sims gave their fans the biggest news ever when they announced that they were expecting their first child. And two weeks ago on 27th July, they welcomed their son Crew Sims Koepka who arrived six weeks early and two days before Jena’s planned baby shower. Due to the early delivery, Sims had to undergo a C-section. And though Sims was discharged from the hospital, her son has been kept in the NICU and is still being fed through a tube.

Both parents are constantly visiting their son at the hospital. Sims is also keeping the fans regularly updated on the ongoing situation. And now spending last week worrying over her child, the Sports Illustrated model has shared a very happy update with her fans.

“Absolutely Stunning”: Wife Jena Sims Steal the Spotlight Away From Husband Brooks Koepka After His Recent Major Disappointment

In her latest Instagram story, Sims posted a pic of holding Crew in her arms and have written, “Crew/Blake update: He’s is above his birthweight, taking more and more from the bottle (still learning to swallow, breathe, etc) progress towards getting that feeding tube out, cheeks getting chubbier.” Sims is flashing a brilliant smile in the picture as she holds her baby boy who is getting better with every day.

It must have been a huge relief for the couple who had to earlier leave the hospital without their son. Jena has shared her pain about the same on her Instagram. She said “Leaving the hospital without your baby is something I wish on no one. It’s the hardest thing we’ve ever done. We have been visiting him as much as possible, and know he’s in the absolute best care.” And as a thank-you gesture, Sims did something great for the NICU nurses.

Jena Sims plans a surprise for NICU nurses to show her gratitude

Sims has planned something special for the NICU nurses to express her gratitude for their attentive care toward her son. On Monday she asked her Instagram family about what will be a perfect gift for nurses. Among the numerous suggestions, she found the response from an ICU RN the best who suggested gifting Stanley Water bottles, complete with Starbucks gift cards. Soon she replied with another note in her stories. She wrote “This is great!! Thank u! Most of y’all saying Starbucks. That I can handle, and maybe do something nicer when we ‘graduate’.”

It was very thoughtful of Sims to take this initiative. Though Crew hasn’t been discharged yet, fans are eager to see Sims and Koepka taking their baby boy home as soon as possible. Hopefully, it will happen soon.
