Day 1 Weather Report for Chevron Championship

Wednesday was the practice round for all the golfers participating with the gates closed to the public. As a quite premonition of what could happen during the first two days, the play was called off by 9:30 AM at the Woodlands due to severe weather conditions. The players were asked to exit the course with water collecting through the playing area. The storms are expected to stay on till afternoon. Hopefully, it dries out and players get to shake a bit of rust before the next day.

Thursday is going to be a similar testy challenge for the golfers on the field. There is an 88% chance of precipitation, with nearly two hours of rain expected. What is concerning is that there is also a 53% chance of thunderstorms. If you have tickets to the Texas event of the Chevron Championship, be warned! There might be instances of postponement happening or early tee times to circumvent the weather. So, be prepared for that!

Raincoats are a must for fans who will be attending the tournament, and the thunderstorm probabilities during both days will be a concern for the organizers. It will be interesting to see how the organizers, fans, and participants navigate the challenge posed by the weather during this  year’s proceedings.

Play being suspended is nothing new. Just last year, the Round 3 proceedings were affected significantly by the compromising weather conditions. This eventually led to the play being suspended till the start of the next day, with the rest of the round taking place on Sunday.
