Today he issued another statement saying that his words were ‘misrepresented’ and that LIV is not coming up with its own major. The words he spoke were because of the frustration due to the blackmailing that LIV players are facing. He clarified more and said that, a few weeks ago, he was having a casual conversation with a New Yorker reporter at LIV’s Boston event. It was not official; instead, it was mere frustration.
The internet is mighty, and news spreads like fire in the jungle. The golf fans swamped the comments section with their views on the statement and retraction of it.
What do golf fans think about the CEO of LIV Golf?
Fans had mixed reactions about the LIV having their majors, and the CEO retracted the statement, calling it a misrepresentation. According to him, majors are the best opportunities for LIV players and others to compete and showcase their talent. It’s a prestigious platform, and he has the utmost respect for it. However, some golf fans did not buy what the CEO said.

When the statement about creating majors was making rounds on the internet, fans did not relate to it. Creating a major is impossible because those are titles earned based on history and merit. However, some also gave ideas of LIV vs. PGA Ryder Cup.

But after he retracted the statement, people considered LIV a failure. They swamped the comment section with funny comments and were utterly against LIV. Fans were not happy, and they were commenting about boycotting the LIV altogether. Some fans feel like people don’t watch the tournaments and are unaware of the players. There was too much heat in the comments section, and fans were asking questions and commenting sarcastically.
If you could create a major then The Players would be a major. The PGA and NBC have tried to do so.
But you cannot “create” a major they gain those titles based on merit and history. The US Amateur used to be a major and now its not.
LIV is clueless and silly

Nice to see the clarification.
Sometimes in a new venture people thrive off the Villain and Hero conflict when it could easily be a Win Win situation all involved. 😎— Kali (@Truegrit65) October 21, 2022
We need a high stakes PGA v LIV Ryder Cup style event. That'd be worth getting the popcorn out for.

We love it so much that you are failing on an amazing level. NO ONE is watching your players. It's beyond pathetic. Go back home. Your attempt to buy the sport lost in dramatic fashion. No one even knows your players are still alive. It is GREAT to see you fail!!!

I'm pretty anti Liv, but to suggest they've lost is arrogant to the extreme – they are winning the battles they want to win where it matters.
The only battles they are losing are in media and class.
They can't concede the Majors as a battleground so they try miscommunication— ZittyRrrs (@zitty_rrrs) October 21, 2022
No one wants to watch your attempt to buy professional golf. It's transparent. It will fail.

"…despite the PGA Tour's suspension of OUR players…" just think that one through for a minute…😂
— Lighten Up Francis (@LightenUpFrank) October 21, 2022
No, you said you’d create your own majors with huge purses. Create away…

Someone keep eyes on the Dude who wrote that New Yorker article.

Thus, people has a lot to say.
How it all started?
The new golf series, LIV, backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, has created chaos in the golf world since its launch in October 2021. They coined this to reinvigorate golf by paying more to players and efficient marketing.
Outstanding players like Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, and so forth left the PGA Tour behind and joined LIV. As a result, they were suspended and denied the right to play majors, as they were not part of the PGA tour. They filed a lawsuit against PGA, but later some players, including Mickelson, withdrew the case.
