LIV Golf Adelaide continues to bring something new! Rising pros like Jinichiro Kozuma caught the attention of enthusiasts as he managed to take the lead in the first round with a 9-under-63. The league also worked hard to provide a stellar fan experience with innovations like Flight Deck. Regrettably, these remarkable performances and initiatives are now being overshadowed by certain wild behaviors, such as hurling water bottles onto the greens. Unpleasant behavior from the Australian fans didn’t stop here though.

A video from @NUCLRGOLF went viral on social media, wherein the footage depicted impulsive behavior from spectators watching the game up close. In the clip, Sam Horsfield from Team Majestic GC was observed taking a shot. After his shot, the crowd began embracing the pro while holding cans of various drinks.

However, it’s crucial to note that the pro was surrounded by many spectators, and their enthusiastic praise for Horsfield could have endangered both the golfer and those nearby. The fans sure did not have any bad intentions, but getting riled up all excitedly could have led to something dangerous and harmful. With the crowd in Adelaide nearly doubling compared to 2023, reports indicate that over 70,000 tickets were sold for the event this year, surpassing the numbers from last year.

A comparable incident occurred last year when Chase Koepka hit an ace on the Watering Hole. The crowd erupted in celebration, throwing numerous beers onto the greens, resulting in some damage to the course. Although the wild behavior of the spectators in this clip didn’t damage the course, it sparked mixed reactions from the community.

What do fans think of the wild scenes at LIV Golf Adelaide?

As the video gained traction among golf enthusiasts, the comment section quickly filled with remarks from the community addressing the situation.

One fan expressed their concern, stating, “More like dangerous. Not cool imo.” They characterized the situation as reckless, highlighting the potential harm it could have caused to the pro.

Regarding this fan’s perspective, they emphasized their desire to avoid events akin to the Waste Management Open. They commented, “No thanks. We need less Waste Management Open, not more.” This probably alludes to the misbehavior and excessive drinking observed at the tournament, and how similar acts are being observed at this year Adelaide’s event.

This fan expressed similar disappointment, describing the behavior of the enthusiasts as “the lamest thing I’ve ever seen” about their actions at the event. This fan did not find such a reaction at a simple shot amusing, and praiseworthy.

One golf fan conveyed their lack of interest in the Saudi-backed league, stating, “No interest in LIV especially after watching this.” They highlighted their disappointment with the reckless behavior depicted in the clip, indicating that they no longer have an interest in watching LIV Golf events.
