Lexi Thompson wishes to inspire the coming generations with her actions

The 27-year-old began her career with an explosive start. She turned pro at the age of 15 and became the youngest female golfer to turn pro. Since then, she’s gone on to compete in the Olympics, win a major, and win 10 other times on the LPGA Tour. Lexi knows her achievements aren’t ordinary.

Thompson is also aware that, her talent and accomplishments, make her a role model for the younger girls out there. She said in an interview with IndyStar, “I guess I consider myself a role model, just because a lot of people tell me I am.” The LPGA star added that it was important to “loving yourself for who you are,” and that was the message she wanted the youngsters to learn from her.

Lexi explained that she did everything she could to set a good example for those who looked up to her. She was always very open and honest on social media and made sure that the way she acted was worthy of being someone’s idol. And Lexi Thompson loved being able to create change. She said, “As athletes, we should leave our sport better than when we started.”

Who was Thompson’s role model growing up?

It is clear that the LPGA winner looks to set a good example, but fans also wonder who inspired her as a child. It was none other than her mother, Judy Thompson, as Lexi revealed in 2017. She stated, “She’s always been a role model of mine. I always aspire to be the woman—half the woman that she is.”

She revealed that her mother always supported her no matter what, and there was never any pressure. “She just says: ‘No matter what, I love you, just go out, do your best’… “And that’s why I absolutely love her,” said Thompson.
