The Solheim Cup is currently on its third and final day, and the singles matches are in progress. Throughout the four sessions on the first two days, there wasn’t a shortage of entertainment and a great show of talent from the players from both teams. However, there are shortages of other things though.

While the golf has been spectacular, the tournament’s management, however, apparently isn’t. A certain Twitter thread on the matter would give you an answer to how bad it really has been.

Unreliable rides and shops across the Solheim Cup

Right from the first day of the Solheim Cup, there have been complaints online about how the event has failed logistically. With the feedback and a better idea of the kind of crowd that is flooding in, this thread from a journalist clears up any doubts one might have about the situation. She literally called it “a health risk.”

The thread talks about how on the practice days (Monday-Wednesday), there was severe overselling of food and beverages. In addition to the price hikes, the organizers were probably not stocked up well enough either. “It’s such a shame,” the post lamented.

Forget seats. Apparently, some people had to leave because they could not even find shade to sit. And then the thread also spoke about the issue of transportation. The course allegedly allowed only one taxi service to enter, and they were probably not the best in town. At one point, the team themselves advised not to rely on them for a ride, it seems as per the thread.

The core issue is probably that while they sold a lot of tickets, the management was probably prepared for merely 10 percent of the actual crowd, or so it would seem. People had to wait through long queues to get water bottles and stuff, and even that wasn’t a certainty.

To make matters worse, when the discussion brings up the coverage issues, it opens up a new can of worms.

Apparently, the TV coverage was appalling too

It looks like the broadcasting service had outsourced the graphic work (scorecards, fixtures, etc.), as per comments online. The channel is being criticized for its poor coverage. There are complaints that the footage only shows tee shots and putts and not much else. Fans have complained about missing out on great shots in between.

On top of this, the thread mentions how in the course, an air-conditioned pavilion created a hilarious moment. The TV inside the room was displaying a canoe event while golf was happening right outside.

For the kind of quality that players such as Nelly Korda are offering to the tournament, it seems unfair how the event is organized with such callousness.
