In a splendid gameplay, Khang carded five straight birdies in a back-nine burst. And she scored a 6-under 66 in the second round on Friday. She has taken a one-stroke lead at the Women’s Open and will play some of her best games in the remaining two days.

In an interview after her performance, everyone wanted to know which feeling engulfed her the most after a jaw-dropping Friday. “You know, today it was a solid day. Yesterday I felt pretty good myself. You know, it’s never a good feeling finishing three bogeys in a row, so obviously I knew I could play some pretty good golf out here.”

It was indeed an impressive upgrade from her Thursday’s triple bogey shot. The 25-year-old continued, “Each day is different but, yeah, no, kind of mid-round, my ball striking got pretty hot, and then my putter was just getting hot as well. So just kind of, like, staying patient out there.”

Khang also said that the front fine felt monotonous when she was making one birdie. But this golf course requires you to make par. In an Instagram reel by CPKC Women’s Open official handle, the greatness of Megan’s course-record can be sensed.

Khang concluded the bogey-free morning with three pars. And now she’s at 7-under 137. Recalling her performance on Thursday, she thought she hit some errant shots. However, her approach to entering another day, knowing it is new, definitely helped her recover.

About her plans heading into the weekend, Khang has promised herself to remember that birdies exist. She plans to stay levelheaded. Looks like she has also accepted the existence of bogeys. All her attempt is about limiting them now.
