LIV Golf successfully took away some of the best players on the PGA Tour with their lucrative money deals and offers. However, there were some who made the controversial decision to join the Saudi League for its shorter schedules. Notably, almost every golfer appreciates spending less time on the field and being back home with their family. However, when a fellow Australian pro put forward his contradictory opinions, former world no. 1 Brooks Koepka and two-time major winner Dustin Johnson took a bold stand against him.

What do Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson think about LIV Golf’s short schedule?

Unlike Bryson DeChambeau, who said joining LIV Golf was merely a ‘business decision’ for him, golfers find numerous interesting factors about the breakaway circuit! And one of the major attractions of the league, other than the huge purses, is the 14-event schedule. In fact, several players, including Koepka, Johnson, Mickelson, etc. have been able to spend more time with their loved ones, due to the same reason.

However, not everyone is in favor of the fact that they have to sit at home while PGA Tour players complete their entire long schedules around the course. Notably, Australian golf star Jediah Morgan recently opened up about his honest feelings about the Saudi tour’s tournament scheme.

Finding the short schedules ‘frustrating,’ he said, “I think a lot of the guys would like to see it grow to 18 events, but that’s from a young guy speaking. Others might like 14… You probably need to play a few more events each year to keep yourself sharp.”

But there is one thing that he probably forgot. A majority of players shifted to the league for the short duration of its season. After a reporter brought this up in the recent LIV Golf Adelaide press conference, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson shared their views, well, bluntly. “I’m fine just where it is,” Johnson said. While Koepka stated, “I think right now it’s just perfect. We’ve got 14 here and then four majors. 18 is a pretty good schedule.”

While there is no assurance whether these players will be allowed to participate in the upcoming majors or not, golfers like Koepka have high hopes for LIV Golf. And his reasons might not entirely be misplaced.

Koepka reveals the Masterplan to make LIV Golf stronger

A few days ago, Greg Norman made a few statements about having a long list of players waiting to join LIV Golf. Although he didn’t name a single player, rumors have started to gather regarding several huge names potentially leaving the PGA Tour. However, when asked about the same to Brooks Koepka, he said, “I’m sure there’s a bunch of guys who are still looking to come over”.

The golfer also mentioned that bringing in new players would simply add to the strength of the breakaway league. “You can always add depth to anything. The stronger we get, the better we are,” he added.
