Tiger Woods once held the World No. 1 ranking for a record of 683 weeks. His car accident in 2021 caused him severe leg injuries. He underwent the surgery and returned to the field this year by making a cut in the Masters Tournament. Having made the cut 23 times in a row now, things turned pretty bad for Woods in the third round. His condition was very visible, and his performance was subpar.

Tiger Woods’ participation in events after his car accident

On February 23, Woods suffered a near-fatal car accident in California that caused multiple leg injuries. Woods played alongside his 12-year-old son Charlie at the PNC Championship in Orlando after months of healing from the injuries, coming in second. In July 2022, the five-time Masters winner missed the cut in the Open Championship. Again in December, he disappointed fans by announcing that he was withdrawing from the Hero World Challenge owing to problems with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Nevertheless, he and his son, Charlie Woods, did participate in the PNC Championship. Earlier this year, he hosted the Genesis Invitational and tied for 45th place. After withdrawing from the Masters in April, Woods’ recent appearance on the golf course in Florida was because his son participated in U.S. Kids Golf tournaments, and Woods was there to encourage him.

When Tiger Woods will hold his next trophy, only time will tell. With his recent drop in the world ranking, we sincerely want to see Tiger Woods on the field and demonstrate why he is one of the finest players in the world.
