In 2022, Mickelson’s absence from the field at the PGA Championship made waves in the golf community, especially after his history-making 2021 win. His move to the Saudi-funded LIV Golf soon followed suit, landing him in hot water.

The golfer, however, successfully shut down his detractors with a sensational performance at last month’s Masters. The 52-year-old edged past many PGA Tour rivals to tie for second place along with LIV compatriot Brooks Koepka. Currently competing at LIV’s Tulsa tournament, Mickelson is definitely eyeing a third PGA Championship victory in the coming days.
