Extraordinary argument takes place between threesome and foursome groups
It was through a recent post on Reddit that new controversy seemed to spark on the golf field. Once again, the speed and act of slow play came under the radar of questioning. The user in this context shared an experience he faced on the Bethpage Red Course.
While playing as a threesome, he ran into some unexpected accusations. But what is the game of golf without some drama unfolding? As the couple and the single with them moved toward the second hole, there they realized there was a foursome going on and that they were just teeing off. They figured straight away it was going to be a slow day.

However, the sudden twist in the story happened when the foursome behind them started to hit multiple shots too close to them. At first, the reaction of the threesome was to brush it off. Soon though, at the 12th tee, their gameplay got interrupted by a player from the foursome behind, mentioning, “We’ve been waiting for you guys on every shot.”
The user quickly responded with how everyone is trying to adjust to the conditions. Suddenly, the situation escalated as the player from the other group accused them of “not playing fast enough for a threesome.” The Reddit user posed a question to the audience how exactly is one supposed to move ahead if there is no place to go?
The argument makes us recall the recent incident that Brian Harman faced. While he went on to explain the reason for his slow play, it is sure to have caused slight unease. Similar was the case of the Reddit handle, mentioning, “Argument did leave a bad taste.” Though, the unfortunate situations in both scenarios did not seem to stop the fun of the game of golf for them.
That’s for the marshall to handle! Do you agree?
As it happened the Reddit user asked the online citizens for their opinion regarding the issue. He believed that his threesome was on the correct side of history, while the foursome behind theirs appeared to be pushy and impatient. Many netizens also joined in the conversation through their remarks in favor of the user. Some of them commented:
“My man expects a fast round at bethpage in the summer. Man needs a reality check.”
“4 hours 20 doesn’t qualify as a slow round in most of the U.S.”
“At least you didn’t completely let it ruin you.”
Meanwhile, others who had a similar experience on the field, couldn’t just sit back. They replied with their experiences. “Had a similar experience, but the 4some “pushing” us actually asked to play through! I replied ‘where he** are you going to, pal?'” wrote one.
“Old guys aren’t happy with golf being more popular and courses being busier so they take it out on unsuspecting strangers,” wrote another.

On one hand, a fan used harsher words while delivering his stance. He said, “Guys sound like a**hats. As a golfer, you should never argue or shout at someone about the pace. That’s for the Marshall to handle.”
Another said: ‘You can play through if you want, but we’re gonna hit up on you if you get held up by the foursome in front, just like you’ve been doing all round.‘”
