It’s only been a few days since the golf world witnessed the first major tournament for the 2023 season, the Masters, and the fans are already excited for the next one. With the PGA Championship coming up in May, golf enthusiasts are thrilled to watch their favorite players on the field this year. However, other than the fans, there is someone else who is even more concerned to make his spot on the course. In fact, LIV Golf rebel, Talor Gooch even made some staggering statements accusing the PGA of America. And now, he has something huge to share with his fans on social media!

LIV Golf star accuses PGA Championship of being ignorant

LIV Golf successfully took away some of the most talented players from the PGA Tour last year with its lucrative offers and deals. And one of these skills pros was American star, Talor Gooch. His decision to switch to the Saudi league heavily impacted his persona in the golf world. However, with his recent $4,000,000 victory at LIV Golf Adelaide, the golfer has reaffirmed his skills among his fans.

But despite his latest achievement, the player was recently worried about something else. Ever since Augusta National allowed LIV Golf players to appear at the Masters, Saudi rebels have been extremely confident about their future in other major tournaments as well. And with the PGA Championship scheduled to be played in May, Gooch along with several other defectors was looking forward to making it to the field.

However, he was not very sure if things would fall in his favor this year. And while talking about the matter in an episode of The 73rd Hole podcast, the golf star revealed how the PGA of America has allegedly been avoiding his presence at the prestigious tournament! According to the golfer, the PGA Championship follows a “point system that is directly reflective of the PGA Tour money list”. He mentioned how the PGA of America sends invites to players based on their world ranking and major victories.

The golfer also claimed that non-PGA Tour players like Minwoo Lee and Harold Varner have also received invitations. “They’ve sent this letter to have been ranked below me at that moment in time,” he said. But on the other hand, he mentioned, “I haven’t received an invite yet. And I’m, you know, very hopeful that, you know, that that will change over the next few weeks.”

What is Talor Gooch’s big announcement?

Currently ranked 59th on the OWGR leaderboard, Gooch has no access to world ranking points, thanks to his LIV Golf decision. However, despite all his disappointment regarding his stuck rankings, Gooch has finally received a ray of hope from the PGA Championship. As per the golfer’s recent tweet, the golfer has finally been invited to the PGA Championship.
