PGA Tour veteran’s take on the rollback policy

On the one hand, this innovation in the golf world can achieve the highest peaks of success and also resolve the pertaining problem of increasing distance in professional golf, but on the other hand, it affects the golf courses detrimentally and reduces sustainability as well.

But given that the PGA Tour sticks by its customs, be it for the golfing outfits or other things, even now the rollback policy is not embraced by the tour as well, since it goes against the traditions of their heritage.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan also stands against it, and to officially make that point, he sanctioned a memo that stands in opposition to the rollback policy. Even in the memo, Jay Monahan mentioned, “The proposed Modified Local Rule is not warranted and is not in the best interest of the game” sending shockwaves to the golf community.
