Justin Thomas is arguably one of the most talented players on the PGA Tour roster currently. While the golfer will soon celebrate his 30th birthday later this week, he recently revealed a regret that haunted him. And it is quite surprising coming from JT, who has achieved plenty in professional golf.

Apart from being close friends with Tiger Woods, Thomas boasts a resume that many would have wished to achieve. On 29th April, the two-time Major winner will celebrate his 30th birthday. While many would expect him to welcome the day with an open heart, Justin instead revealed an upsetting regret about him.

Since his professional debut in 2013, Thomas has had 17 wins to his name which also include his two PGA Championships. Nonetheless, while many would brag about their feat, Justin considers he has underachieved in the past decade. While speaking to GOLF.com recently, the soon-to-be 30-year-old talked about reaching the milestone age of his life and not achieving much prior to it.

The only thing that upsets me about turning 30 is that I haven’t accomplished nearly as much as I would have liked or wanted,” said Justin Thomas. He explained how everyone gets only one opportunity to achieve some goals before the age of 30. “When it comes to accomplishments at that age, I mean, you only get one chance. It’s not like I’ll have another chance in a couple years to get a certain amount of wins before I turn 30”.

Nonetheless, JT does recognize that most people would be grateful for his achievements in the sport. He said, “Obviously, a lot of people would take my career”, but also added, “I’m not that pleased with it”. Despite two Major wins and being considered one of the best golfers on the PGA Tour, Thomas is still unhappy with his accolades. So what were his goals in the first place?

How many Major wins did Thomas expect before turning 30?

Last year, after a thrilling playoff at the Southern Hills Country Club against Will Zalatoris, Thomas stood tall as the 2022 PGA Championship winner. It was his first Major triumph since the 2017 edition of the same Major. While he has won two Majors, JT wished to have won at least five Majors before the age of 30.

Having two majors is great, but I want five”, he said. Apart from his two Majors victories, Thomas has 15 wins on the professional circuit. However, the golfer’s goal was to win double that amount within the first thirty years of his life. The 29-year-old said, “Fifteen [career] wins is great, but I want 30”.

While many may label Justin Thomas as ungrateful, the golfer just has high expectations of himself. Moreover, reaching the age of 30 may make him an older human being but not a bad golfer. Regardless, Thomas must create a new list of goals that he wishes to achieve in the next decade. Hopefully, he can fulfill his objectives on that list since he has plenty of talent to do so.
