And with that, the International Team failed to win once again! It was a valiant effort from the International side, however, with 18.5 points, Team USA dominated them at the Sunday Single at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. There was no way that the International Team could close the four-point lead the Americans had and won only three singles on Sunday. That one crucial victory was of the 1-time Masters’ winner, Hideki Matsuyama against Scottie Scheffler.

Although the world no. 1 has been in the best form of his career, the 27-year-old couldn’t stop Matsuyama as he took the lead in the last two holes, and after a birdie on the 17th, both finished at par but the Japanese pro was one up and crushed Scheffler. In the end, although the International team could not win, yet it was a huge victory for Matsuyama and his team and hence, they had been celebrating or trying to forget the results at the Royal Montreal Golf Club.

After leaving the Presidents Cup venue in Quebec, Matsuyama and his caddie, Shota Hayafuji, probably went to have a better night. The 10-time PGA Tour winner posted a drunk photo of his caddie on his Instagram story and wrote, “My man drunk.” At the very least, Team International can only celebrate their efforts for putting up 12.5 points on the leaderboard and for once winning 5-0 against the Americans at the Friday foursomes.

Other than Matsuyama, the two golfers to win on Sunday Singles were Christiaan Bezuidenhout, winning 2&1 against Brian Harman and Corey Conners defeating Tony Finau by 5&3. But only Matsuyama, his caddie, celebrated or posted it on social media, because other golfers on the International Team were probably a bit disheartened by the loss. While they end their Presidents Cup on a sad note, how did the Americans celebrate the win?

The Americans booze up after winning the Presidents Cup

Well, the celebration at the Royal Montreal Golf Club was the usual, with the twelve golfers and the captains lifting the team trophy, hugging and cheering each other, and getting their own time to feel the prestigious golden cup. There is no feeling like winning the team event and that too for the 12th time since it was inaugurated in 1994. But there was more like Xander Schauffele going back to his cigar and smoking a few in celebration.

Moreover, all the team members had beers at least on the course, so the after-party would probably be crazier behind the scenes. And the American Team also has one shirtless assistant captain celebrating Max Homa’s hole-in-one. The critics doubted the 6-time PGA Tour winner because his form was dropping, but Homa won the singles against Mackenzie Hughes 2&1 and also holed out the par-4 hole one.

As he challenged Kevin Kisner to be shirtless at any time he made an eagle, after the match the assistant captain followed through that bet and went shirtless, starting a wave of laughter among the USA Team. It was a perfect weekend for the American Team and their fans as they once again proved who was the dominating team in the Presidents Cup.
