Conditions at the 2022 U.S. Open

The 2022 U.S. Open is underway, and the only word to describe the course conditions is brutal. The setup of the golf course is daunting, and it is penalizing golfers for minute mistakes. The roughs are deep and thick, and reaching the green from the rough can get strenuous on a few holes. 

Furthermore, there is no escaping from roughs around the green as well. It becomes crucial for golfers to stay on the fairway as much as possible. Additionally, this is how we usually see the U.S. Open course set up, where players need to be at the top of their game with the driver, irons, wedges, and putter.  

Golfers with a well-combined game will have a chance of winning the trophy this week. Meanwhile, three golfers, Collin Morikawa, Matthew NeSmith, and Russell Henley, are leading the tournament with a score of -2.
