From the tension before the major championship to the twisted finale on Sunday, the competition had everything on offer, which drew out a range of emotions. Many shed tears after Jon Rahm’s victory, but not the victor himself, which led to a question from tennis great Chris Evert.

Chris Evert pours down emotions after Masters culmination

The tennis legend has been a sports broadcaster since retiring from her professional career, which has led to many sporting avenues, including golf. She also has a history with some of the best players in the sport, having briefly married Aussie great Greg Norman.

Evert herself claimed that she is closely attached to golf, with her hosting duties taking her to the best events on the calendar, including the Masters Tournament. But despite covering such a magnificent competition, the 68-year-old found it difficult not to shed tears.

The former women’s tennis player also revealed that she didn’t weep after her professional victories. The one-time World No.1 won 18 major singles titles, including seven French Open titles and a joint-record six U.S. Open titles.

This year’s inaugural major championship was expected to be hotly contested long before the games even began. For the first time since the league’s inception, LIV golfers were allowed to participate in a major alongside their PGA Tour counterparts, which raised plenty of eyebrows.

Yet, the gathering of the two factions provided plenty of action as the Augusta National Golf Club witnessed the strongest field of the year. After plenty of twists and turns, which included delays due to bad weather, Spanish golfer and World No. 3 Jon Rahm made it to the finish line, securing his first-ever Green Jacket.
