However, sometimes, the cards don’t turn out the way we expect them to, even for Jack. Nicklaus, even after being one of the best players the world of golf has ever seen, does not have the same master’s prize money winnings as Woods. Jack Nicklaus has played in 45 Masters. He has lived his career with a massive amount of earnings at the tournament of $912,359. Whereas, another major name in the golf world, Arnold Palmer, has played in 50 Masters and earned $309,013.

On the contrary, Tiger Woods has earned $9,599,569 as Masters prize money. He has made 24 appearances. The numbers do seem to be contradicting considering Nicklaus’s significantly larger number of Masters participants.

Although, the time and setting do play an incredible role in shaping these statistics and data, and as time evolves, so does the value of money. An additional factor is the evolution of the game.

Nicklaus’ Last Major Championship Title

The Golf legend won his 18th major championship event at Augusta National Golf Club in 1986. He ended the tournament with an overall score of nine under par.

As a result, Jack won the event with a one-shot lead after the final round on Sunday. Tom Kite and Greg Norman finished as the runner-ups to Nicklaus.
