Tiger Woods is one of the few players responsible for bringing well-deserved fame and respect to the game of golf. The 15-time major winner has had a beautiful impact on the sport with his spectacular performances in professional tournaments. However, the golfer has also seen rough times in his career. What did Tiger Woods recently do to improve his game?
It has been some time since fans have seen Woods play to his best potential in any recent professional tournament. The golf legend has been struggling to walk straight without a limp in the field. And it has been a huge task for him ever since he went through the life-threatening car accident back in February 2021. However, the golfer has been trying to recover as quickly and efficiently as possible. Woods recently participated in the Hero World Challenge, hoping to get back to his best form. But things didn’t go as planned for the golfer and he had to withdraw mid-tournament due to his leg’s condition.
Nevertheless, Woods is trying out new ways to improve his game and increase his chances of making it to the top once again. According to recent reports from ‘Golf.com’, Woods has changed some of his equipment for upcoming events. And one of these things is Bridgestone’s B X golf ball, which he might use for the next two weeks. The B X ball is a softer, higher-spinning ball that allows the golfer to add a distance of nearly 10 yards in every shot.

‘Golf.com’ revealed the golfer first tried his hands on the newly chosen ball on his at-home golf simulator. And it was not long before he figured out that the B X is firmer and offers lower flight and spin in comparison to the B XS ball that he used. The golf legend has been very particular with his equipment and uses only the best-suiting balls and clubs in his tournaments. However, the new ball might help the golfer add some edge to his performance in the upcoming games.

The source also talked to Elliot Mellow, the marketing manager of Bridgestone’s golf ball about the B X ball. “These are more of an exhibition-type situation, and I think that’s factoring into his decision,” he explained. “So he’ll be a Tour B X player at least for the next few events. He’s been looking at distance and the greenside spin is where it needs to be.”

After trying it on his simulator, Woods also tested the ball on the field in The Bahamas before he stepped out from the Hero World Challenge. However, despite his decision, Bridgestone is expecting Woods to switch to the old B XS ball for his official competition in the upcoming year.
