He says, “Greensboro was Greensboro and then Memphis started playing well again, Thursday, Friday and the question started and I wanted a shot about it. You know, I’ve always wanted to play on that team, always have, and still do. It’s obviously a goal, I said it then and I would say it now, I think it’s the highest honor you can have as an athlete, to represent your country in any way and, you know, 43, almost 44, and it’s the only thing I haven’t done and still want to.”

Indeed, playing in the Ryder Cup is a dream of every golfer but sadly it isn’t lived by all. This year the team lost but getting a chance to play was a big honor for them.

When the interviewer asked him if he did get a call from Zach Johnson, Glover replied that he did. According to Glover he and Johnson have been good friends for a long time.

He talked with other captains as well and the hardest thing is to call up other guys and tell them they didn’t make it. Glover too received a similar call. He didn’t make it any harder on Johnson and told him that he understood. It was a tough call to make, but it is what it is.
