Tiger Woods reveals the off-limit putters for Charlie
Back in 2016, in an interview, Woods was talking about his putting studio. One thing led to another, and a question arose as to which putters Woods’ beloved son, Charlie, was allowed to use. Charlie was already playing some magnificent golf by then. While many expected the champion to say his son had access to everything he owned, that wasn’t the case.

Woods explained that Charlie knew he could use any putter except two. Woods explained that his son could do whatever he wanted with the rest of the putters, but those two were the forbidden fruit. “Touch any other putter, do anything you want with any other putter. But these putters are off-limits.”

The 15-time major winner had two putters that held a special place in his heart. The first was the putter he used in his first major win in 1997. The second was made by Scotty Cameron and involved his other 14 majors. He stated, “There’s the black one I won with the Teryllium insert. I won the Masters in ’97 with it and this Scotty Cameron. They sit next to each other.”

Scotty gives Charlie his own putter
After the 82-time PGA Tour victor responded in the interview by saying Charlie wasn’t allowed anywhere near his Scotty Cameron putter, Scottie, after hearing this, decided to tip the scales in Charlie’s favor a little. “The next day, I went to the shop and created a putter for Charlie,” said Scotty in a chat with Golf.com.

Not only did Charlie get a putter, which was designed specifically for him, but Cameron also engraved the putter. He said, “On the sole, I stamped: By Scotty, Made Only for Charlie.” Cameron explained that Charlie was the third generation of Woods to use his putters because his father, Earl Woods, had done so too.
