Watson and Nicklaus also had a fierce rivalry during the 1970s and 1980s. Mental Toughness, precision, and determination defined Watson. The two golfers faced off against each other in numerous high-profile tournaments, including major championships.

They were both terrific competitors.” He added, “Trevino and I came down the stretch several times and Watson and I came down the stretch and frankly they got me probably more than I got them.”
