Paige Spiranac has her pocket full of multiple talents. The golf diva who once harbored the dream of becoming a professional golfer, gave it up due to health issues and extreme pressure. But she never dropped her association with golf.

Although she retired from professional golf, Spiranac actively expresses her opinions on all crucial golf matters and regularly drops her ideas on her Twitter account, and this time was no different, as she went on the break stereotypes. 

Paige Spiranac expresses her views on scratch golfers

With her latest tweet, Paige has made a big comment on scratch golfers and the stereotype related to them. Scratch golfers are considered one of the best in the field. It is supposed that the lower the handicap of a player, the better they will be at their game. And there are only a few golfers who have a handicap of 0, a great player who makes par on all holes. Expressing her take on the matter Spiranac wrote in the caption –  “Most people think a scratch golfer is good enough to play on tour lol they would have to give a scratch player at least 4 per side.”

Accordingly, Paige is bursting the myth that players with lower handicaps are automatically considered good enough to play on tours, but that is not always the case. The golf influencer used golf legend Tiger Woods, as an example to show that handicap of +9 does not affect his game.

Spiranac had herself once admitted of being a scratch golfer. Reflecting on her earlier golf days and comparing them to now, Spiranac had previously answered a fan’s question – “I’m a scratch golfer now. And when I was at my best, I was a plus four.”

Spiranac has immense respect for Woods and always had his back

Paige condemns the ideology that having a handicap of 0 or negative, grants the player the status as good as the next level. An influential figure for the golf world, Woods can find a huge fan and admirer in the reigning golf influencer Paige Spiranac, too. The golf beauty has always appreciated the legend and extended her support whenever she felt the need for it. 

She had Woods’ back, and publicly defended him on various occasions – be it his withdrawal from the finals at the Masters Championship despite making the cut, or his practical joke with Justin Thomas on the golf course which landed him in trouble with fans and sports media. Using the great Tiger Woods as an example to burst down the long-maintained myth of scratch players is influencer’s way of modernism.
