People remember Bryson DeChambeau for various reasons. For some, he is the longest hitter on the PGA Tour, while others think of him as the ‘Mad Scientist’ who was willing to experiment even with his body to improve his game. Recently, many consider him as one of those LIV Golfers who left the American Tour for more money. Nonetheless, the teenager, Katharine Koonce, will always remember him as the kind-hearted golfer who accepted her gift and helped her without any conditions.
Koonce suffered second and third-degree burns from an accident when she was only 4 years old. She was admitted to Shriners Hospital for the first time to get treatment for her 75% burned body. Since then, Katharine Koonce has gone through several surgeries, which she playfully says as more than “she can count.”

All the sufferings the 4-year-old had to face led her to become a confident teenager and one of the Shriners’ patient ambassadors. And as a fan of golf, she had some gifts prepared for DeChambeau before a Tour event he competed in since his first major championship victory.

Reports suggest that DeChambeau did wear the shoes to the tournament. However, he had put the pair of shoes for auction after the event so that he can raise money for the Shriners Hospital.
