But as his fans know, Woods is a man of discipline and prefers going by the rules. And therefore, in a recent press conference, Woods claimed that he would not do something his old pal John Daly once did to get an advantage on the field.

Tiger Woods won’t repeat what John Daly once did
Tiger Woods has been trying to work his way back into competition for a long time. Ever since he met with a terrible car accident in 2021, Woods hasn’t been able to perform very well in professional tournaments. His fans had high hopes for him in the Hero World Challenge and were excited to watch him play. However, the golfer withdrew from the tournament due to issues with his leg. But despite all his problems, Woods made sure that he wouldn’t do what other golfers like John Daly did in the past.
In his recent press conference, Woods talked about various things including his goals and the current golf scenario. And during the conversation, Woods was asked if he would ever use a cart during a tournament after his withdrawal from the recent Hero World Challenge. But the golfer’s reaction was something not everybody would have expected.

“On the PGA Tour? No,” he said. “I will never take a golf cart unless it’s sanctioned. It’s sanctioned on the Champions Tour, and the PNC is part of that. But as far as a regular PGA Tour event? No, I would never do that.”

Something that most of his fans must remember is that there was a time Woods cracked a joke about Daly regarding the same. When Daly took a cart during the 2019 PGA Championship, Woods decided to take a shot at the golf professional. With a wide grin on his face, Woods said, “As far as JD taking a cart? Well, I walked with a broken leg, so…”.

His reaction got the whole room laughing. But fans must also remember how Woods needed to use a cart himself during the JP McManus Pro-Am. And during the time, he explained how he didn’t want to put unnecessary pressure on his leg. However, despite his withdrawal, Woods doesn’t think that using a cart on the PGA Tour is something he would ever do.
