It seems like no one can escape the Solheim Cup fever. The Ryder Cup’s sister tournament has got everyone talking. Now, three-time Solheim Cup winner and last edition’s US Team Vice-Captain Michelle Wie West has joined in to cheer for her country.

The biennial golf tournament has returned to European soil. For the first time, it is being played in Spain at Finca Cortesin Golf Club. The US team, helmed by Stacy Lewis and featuring established and rising stars like Nelly Korda, Danielle Kang, Lilia Vu, and Rose Zhang, will look to end the European Team’s dominance in recent times. Lewis & team have found a new backer in Wie West in their quest for glory.

In their back-to-back triumphs in 2015 and 2017, Michelle Wie West was part of the American team, so it’s understandable why she is so excited.

Interestingly, she became just the second LPGA Tour rookie in history to play on Team USA when she debuted for the historic treble-winning US side in 2009. Wie West played her last Pro tournament in this year’s 2023 US Women’s Open at Pebble Beach. Since her retirement, Wie West has busied herself with various social causes and philanthropic activities.
