Phil Mickelson drops a new update on social media amidst the Pat Perez controversy

The golf world is well aware of the bitter relationship between LIV pros Phil Mickelson and Pat Perez. In November of 2022, Perez appeared in an episode of the “Son of a butch” podcast, wherein he talked about disliking Lefty for an “uncrossable and unforgivable” action. But what exactly did the 53-year-old do to rub Perez the wrong way?

In an afterword for his book, “Phil: The Rip-Roaring (and Unauthorized!) Biography of Golf’s Most Colorful Superstar,” writer Alan Shipnuck offered an insight into what may have caused the feud between the two. Per Shipnuck, Mickelson allegedly showed “offensive” photos to Perez’s wife during a 2015 dinner in New Jersey!

Instead of addressing the new claims, Mickelson has now sidetracked the entire fiasco in a recent Instagram video, and how! Offering some golfing pointers in the new post, the golfer kicks off the video by saying, “Like me or not, your short game wants some help.

Sorry to hear about your fan issues at LACC. Glad you kept a smile. Keep doing your thing,” said one fan in regard to the golfer getting heckled during the US Open last week. “Please keep these tips coming. I need em,” wished another.

Recently, Mickelson’s attorney shared that the golfer’s agent, Steve Loy, and Perez’s former agent, Jeff Koski, were present during the dinner.
