Despite Their Friendship, Proud American John Daly Called Donald Trump the ‘Second Best President’ After Their Golf Bonding in 2019

John Daly is one of the finest golfers today. He has been on the PGA Tour since 1991 and is also part of the PGA tour Champions. He is well known for his driving distance off the tee and his fantastic choice of country club clothes. However, there is one more thing he is well known for, other than his alcohol and gambling addictions.

It is his relationship with the former POTUS, Donald Trump. They’re often seen playing together on one of the golf courses owned by Trump. However, there was a time when Daly’s statement about Trump highlighted his contentment while playing golf with the owner of Trump National Golf Clubs.

Why does John Daly love playing with Trump?

The Claret Jug winner, John Daly, once appreciated the partnership of former POTUS, Donald Trump. According to him, Trump was the “second-best president” he had ever played golf with. However, according to him, Bush Sr. was the best former POTUS he ever played with. But he loved Trump’s company, and it was clear how much the 56-year-old golfer loved playing golf with him. In 2019, the Twitter post by the PGA golfer was proof of their happy partnership.

He shared a picture of them with a thumbs-up pose and said he was proud to be an American, especially with the man leading the country back then. In the picture, he wrote, “one of the greatest days of my life!” Daly also thanked the former president for gifting him a great day. Trump did not just let it be out there, and he acknowledged his post about Daly by replying to it. He said that the golfer was a special guy to him.

This all happened when the duo met at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, in August 2019. Daly, as usual, was catching the attention with his extraordinary clothes as he wore American flag shorts and a blue golf shirt. And Trump wore a white t-shirt with black pants.

Does Daly’s favorite President cheat at golf?

April 2019 was the year when the claims of sportswriter Rick Reilly revealed that the former president was not very honest about golf. In his book ‘Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump,’ he explained his actions and reports of Golf.com backed Trump’s cheating while playing golf. In the book, Reilly writes, “He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs.”

Even Daly later shared that they never keep score while playing together. Their primary focus is on having a good time together. They don’t even talk about golf or anything else.
