Paulina Gretzky was born in Los Angeles and is the first child of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. Despite having such a strong athletic background, she once revealed that she never appreciated golf while growing up. The story dates back to April 2014, when she was in an interview with Golf Digest.

“I didn’t appreciate golf as much when I was little, probably because my mom put us in tennis camps and golf camps. My mom has a video of me when I was really young where I’m saying, “Daddy, don’t go play golf anymore.” I just wanted to spend time with him,” she said when asked whether she played golf while growing up. While she didn’t like golf as much, Gretzky was an avid athlete and also played with her dad.

“Oh, I’ve definitely played. I walked all 18 holes in my dad’s tournament. It felt like the longest day of my life, but I stuck through it. The truth is, I was a total tomboy and loved sports. Dad always says I was his best athlete. I played softball until the sixth grade, and that’s when I said, “Dad, stop. I’m a girl,” the golfer’s wife revealed her interest in different sports.

Paulina Gretzky is not only a pro golfer’s wife, but she is a model and an actor as well, with appearances in movies like Grown Ups 2, Fame, Guns, Girls, and Gambling. She also has a competitive mindset, thanks to his father and mother.

Further in the interview, Paulina was also asked whether she plays with her husband. As a response, she revealed, “I’ll go with him to the range every once in a while, but mostly I just love being with him and watching him play.” Despite her limited interest in golf, does she just accompany her husband to the range, or does she also attend tournaments?
