Tiger Woods earned the title of GOAT with his hard work and consistency. It was a challenging path, and we are aware of all the injuries he suffered. The early 2000s were the glorious year of his career. But unfortunately, there always comes a dip, and accidents and injuries were becoming his downfall. However, the former number-one golfer did not lose hope and powered through his pain. We know about his sufferings, but it would always be better to see the golfer’s point of view. Woods came clean about his injuries and revealed his one realization about the sports world in his interview yesterday.

Woods will be returning to the greens via the Genesis Invitational. He will not only host the event but also play and leave his mark again. Yesterday, he attended a press conference where he explained what he learned after suffering major back injuries in his golf career. The reporter asked, “at what point in your in your career did you start to feel grateful?“

Woods immediately answered, “probably, you know I’ve had some knee surgeries early on in my career but nothing like what I experienced with my back.” Woods said he could get over the pain and rehabs of his ACL injury or single car accident, but he could never get over the pain and brutal rehabs about his back injuries.
After all the setbacks, he realized “the mortality of this game and Just Sports in general,” Woods was aware that he was not immortal. However, after all the pain and injuries, he overcame tough times. The 15 times major championship winner was grateful for surviving all that. In the interview, he mentioned his hardships and said that he avoided a few shots when the pro golfer had his back injuries. The pro golfer is returning to the golf course again, and fans are excited to see the hall-of-fame golfer in action.

How many back surgeries did Woods have?
Woods became a professional in 1996. Since then, he had five back surgeries. In 2013, he suffered a series of back spasms, forcing him to withdraw from the event. However, the pain returned in 2014 during the final round of the Honda Classic, sending his fans into shock. Then in the same year, he had back surgery for a pinched nerve, due to which he had to withdraw his name from Masters. During WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, he jarred his back again in August 2014.

Then came the year 2015, when he had to withdraw from the Phoenix Open due to his back injury. He had microdiscectomy surgery for the second time in 2015, withdrawing from all other events of that year. In 2016 he said, “My rehabilitation is to the point where I’m comfortable making plans, but I still have work to do.” The path was full of obstacles, but he overcame every single one.
