Nick Faldo has been one of the most renowned Englishmen to play on the PGA Tour. Following his retirement from professional golf, he began his broadcasting career. Notably, Sir Faldo recently announced his retirement from broadcasting, yet many fans speculated that he would join the LIV Golf’s commentary team. However, his recent comments have cleared any such rumors.

The 64-year-old Hall of Famer recently shared a video on Twitter providing his fans with all the necessary updates. While at it, he presented his stance on Greg Norman’s LIV Golf.

Not to mention, Sir Nick Faldo retired from the commentary booth of CBS Sports and Golf Channel after 16 years. This came as a shocker to many, which eventually led to the theories of Faldo joining the Saudi-backed Golf Tour.

Sir Faldo squashes LIV Golf rumors

In the video, Nick Faldo speaks to his fans while sitting with his dog. Faldo started by sharing his plans for the weekend, which comprised his visit to Ireland and Scotland and attending Elton John’s concert in Watford before heading to The Open Championship.

Faldo then talks about LIV Golf while comically referring to it as “54 Tour”; The LIV Golf Tournaments will be played with only 54 par, unlike the traditional 72 course.

Sir Nick Faldo Reveals the One-Liner He Will Use to End His Glorious 16-Year Broadcasting Career

Nick Faldo said, “And I thought I would just say, number one, I am retiring because of travel. I don’t want to travel. Number two, if I do call anything, I would like to call championship golf.”

The 6-time Major Champion further added by talking about Greg Norman. He said, “And number three, do you think Greg [Norman] wants to see my boat race – my face – around for about 10 weeks a year or more?” Faldo ended by saying, “I don’t think so, so I’ll give you that clue.

Sir Faldo poked fun at the LIV Golf CEO while also indirectly slamming that the LIV Golf isn’t Championship golf.

Nick Faldo ripped into Brooks Koepka

Last week, Brooks Koepka’s announcement of joining LIV Golf caught a lot of anger from golf fans. Nick Faldo joined in with the fans to express his disappointment with the 32-year-old.

Faldo said, “He’s a wonderful example of the challenge of playing the Tour.” He further added, “Brooks is a wonderful example. He started way out, I believe, on the Asian Tour, then he wins in Europe. We were there on CBS to watch him win in Phoenix. He wins four majors, he’s climbed his way up. Last week he’s saying, ‘Get out of my face, all I want to do is play golf and go and win.’ And somebody then hit his number, and off he goes.”

Faldo added by saying, “And I’m really surprised at that, because I know when he’s out there, it’s a boatload of cash.” Nick Faldo also criticized LIV Golf’s lack of excitement since the Tour does not have the cut format. Moreover, Sir Faldo advised the players that they can’t fake the enjoyment.

Regardless of what the rumors state, it is clear to say that Sir Nick Faldo is far from joining the LIV Golf Tour.
