The golf world was taken aback when the news of the accident of the 5-time Masters champion, Tiger Woods came to light back in 2021. Ever since Woods has been trying to recover from the life-threatening accident with multiple injuries. Recently, legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus, also known as ‘The Golden Bear’ made an appearance at The Insperity Invitational, the Champions Tour event in The Woodlands. The legend has won 117 professional tournaments in his lifetime. He talked about all the severities that Woods has been through.

Jack Nicklaus sticks up for Tiger Woods

Nicklaus is playing in the Folds of Honor Greats of Golf event at the Insperity Invitational, alongside other golf legends. Woods has undergone surgery for his right ankle. recently. ‘The Golden Bear’ spoke some really uplifting words for Woods amidst his ongoing health conditions.

The two sit next to each other every Champions Dinner and talk a lot. This year also both the legends sat together and Woods shared some insights about his health. The 83-year-old spoke that Woods said, “He’s ‘I’m really playing well. I’m hitting the ball great. My short game’s great. My putting’s good.’ He said, ‘I just can’t walk.”

Praising Woods, Nicklaus said, “I think he’s showed a lot of guts and courage to play and try to be a part of what’s going on with the way he’s been,” and, “I think he’s done a pretty darn good job of it. He’s actually swinging very well.

 Jack Nicklaus also mentioned that if Woods was not interested in continuing playing, “He wouldn’t be having the operations.”

Mentioning that Woods is not young anymore and recovery is even harder at the increasing age, “As we all know, dedicated and young doesn’t last very long,”

It is disheartening to see a fan-favorite and a legendary golfer fighting for his form. The golf GOAT had to withdraw from the 87th Masters due to plantar fasciitis pain. Recently, he underwent surgery in his right ankle to address the issue of post-traumatic arthritis that is caused by the accident he had in 2021.
