The Donald Trump-Joe Biden golf debate refuses to die down. Despite it being months old, and Biden now out of the race, a clip of Trump challenging Biden circulated on Instagram. In the video, shot presumably before Kamala Harris’s entrance, the former POTUS, after hitting a drive, rhetorically asked, “You think Joe Biden could do that?” A jab that has become ever so repeated.
Trump also talked about his challenge to Joe Biden. After their first Presidential Debate, the former POTUS asked Biden to play against him. Trump even offered to give Biden a twenty-stroke advantage. On top of it, the veteran business mogul said he would also donate $1M to any of Biden’s preferred charities should he win.
“Remember he challenged me? I said I would give you a million dollars if you could break 100,” Trump said in the video. Biden’s team, however, dubbed it as Trump’s ‘weird antics.’ The host even compared it to Stephen Ames’ match against Tiger Woods.

A quick recap: Woods was coming out of an injury-laden hiatus. Ames, a one-time Tour winner, said the match could go either way given the uncertainty around Woods’s form. Six years before that, he also dubbed Woods a ‘spoiled 24-year-old.’
In the 2006 WGC-Dell Technology Match Play, Woods subjected Ames to a 9 & 8 humiliation. The biggest possible victory margin in the match play is 10&8. The host thought a matchplay event between Trump and Biden would’ve been similar. Fans, however, disagree. They are, in fact, done with the Trump-Biden comparison.
Time to move on, fans slam Donald Trump over Biden claim
The Trump-Biden golf debate started during the first Presidential election. The two veteran leaders sparred over their handicaps. While Biden claimed he was a six, Trump trashed him for lying. Much has changed since then, and Biden has pulled out of the Presidential race. So a large section of fans believes it’s time to move on.

What’s your perspective on:
Is Trump’s taunt at Biden just locker room talk, or did he cross the line this time?
Have an interesting take?
One disgruntled user commented, “This whole debate is ridiculous. It is about leading a country not winning a game of golf.” Another wrote, “Biden lives rent free in his head.” However, confusion arose because the video was shot sometime between the first Presidential debate and Biden’s decision to pull out of the race. Regardless, some wondered why it is getting circulated now. “Why post this today if it’s weeks old and irrelevant at this point?” one of them asked.

Trump’s ‘Break 50’ clip with Bryson DeChambeau somewhat solidified his status as a golfer. Even the reigning U.S. Open champion—a close friend of the Trump family—spoke glowingly about his game. However, some are yet to be convinced.

“Dudes (sic!) gasping for breath,” one user joked. Interestingly, similar claims were raised last December as well, when Trump briefly paused in his speech in Iowa. Some speculated that Trump might be suffering from breathing problems. This time too, some eagle-eyed fans noticed that the former POTUS is struggling. Another fan sarcastically wrote, “Someone get this man an oxygen tank.”
Clearly, the Donald Trump and Joe Biden golf debate has left a lasting impact on the public psyche. Even when the battle is between Kamala Harris and Trump, some are still fixated on a match that never happened.
