Everyone knows the kind of role a properly maintained golf course plays in the success of the tournament and the consequences an ill-maintained course can have on the golfer’s game. However, it seems like the USGA is unaware of that. The ruling organization committed a blunder in this regard during the 123rd edition of the US Open at Los Angeles Country Club earlier this month. And it seems like they haven’t learned their lesson.
As the Senior US Open fast approached, fans expected better from the association, but it seems like they’ve gone on to repeat their days-old history all over again at Sentry World in Michigan. And sadly for them, one of the biggest names in golf brought that to light!

Just as the 123rd edition of the US Open was about to begin at the iconic Los Angeles Country Club, a concerning video about the length of grass on the course went viral. A golfer was seen dropping three balls into it in order to display the depth of the grass. To everybody’s shock, the spheres just disappeared into the grass, and it was like they never existed.
A similar video has been brought forward by two PGA Tour veterans, Ernie Els and Rocco Mediate, who are preparing to tee it up at Sentry World for the Senior US Open. According to the video shared by PGA Tour Champions’ official Instagram page, the gold course is “Good for cows, bad for golf.”

The two golfers engaged in fun banter with each other, where Rocco identified himself as “weak” in front of The Big Easy. They did so while displaying the concerning length of the grass on the roughs. The main concern with such thick rough is that it could cause golfers to heckle just in case their ball lands in the area.

The video went viral quickly and had fans from all around flocking to it. And while the roughs of the course left a few frustrated, the majority of fans had their eyes on something else altogether!
