The return of Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour is one of the highlights of this season. He was making birdies fly all over Riviera Country Club. Even though he could not win, he left a mark with his golf skills. But people will remember the Genesis Invitational not as an event Woods made his return, but as an event that made the former number-one golfer undergo scrutiny for his little prank. Passing on the tampon to Justin Thomas did not sit well with some people. And now a retired Norwegian professional golfer, Suzann Pettersen, has also spoken about the incident.

Pettersen said she was easygoing on these jokes, and “I’m sure it was meant as a joke, not as a harassment to women in general.”

As a result of all the negativities, Woods also had to clarify his actions in the media. On camera, he apologized after the second round of the Genesis Invitational. He said it was just a joke and meant to offend no one. The GOAT said, “It was just we play pranks on one another all the time and virally; I think this did not come across that way, but between us, it was different.”

Did Woods receive any more support?

The vice-captain to Pettersen, Dame Laura Davies, also expressed her opinions on the subject and supported the Hall of Fame golfer. It was a bit of fun between two buddies, she stated. The four-time champion claimed it was a bad dad joke that wasn’t appropriate. She may have misjudged the circumstances, but Woods’ joke does not offend her.
