Jon Rahm shocked the golf world when he announced his decision to join LIV Golf. What did Jon Rahm do in the weeks leading up to his big LIV Golf announcement?

Recently, the two-time major winner sat down on a podcast called Golf’s Subpar. He talked about many things, including what his short break after the Spanish Open looked like. The Spaniard revealed that he took a three-week break from golf after the conclusion of the Open de España in October, where he finished in 9th place. The 2023 Masters winner shared that he did absolutely “nothing” during his break and just concentrated on spending time with his loved ones.

Acknowlеdging his rеstlеssnеss during this period, the golfer shared that he is not good at being idle and is “terrible at doing nothing.” He then hilariously shared that he was going “absolutely nuts” at home. Not only this, but he also shared the kind of impact he had on his wife during his break. Rahm humorously joked about “driving my wife nuts” to the point that she almost “kicked” him “out of the house.”

Talking about making better use of his free time, the Spanish golfer said that, at the end of the day, he tries to be a better father. “So try, I mean, just at the end of the day, try to be a dad, so wake up in the morning, you know, get a kick out of it,” said Rahm. The golfer elaborated Not only this, but Jon Rahm also opened up about some of the hardships he faced because of the PGA Tour’s hectic schedule.

How did the PGA Tour’s schedule affect Rahm’s personal life?

During the podcast, the golfer not only talked about driving his wife insane but also talked about the upside of being home with his two sons. He shared that he rarely used to get time to spend with his sons, especially “one-on-one” time with each of them. Stating the reason for the matter, he said that he was mostly always playing and was busy on the tour.

Rahm talked about how it is so much fun to be with both of his sons. Switching to LIV Golf would ease Rahm’s schedule, as LIV has fewer events than the PGA Tour. Although money would have been one of the lucrative factors in joining LIV, with Rahm’s remarks, it can be assured that spending quality time with his family was also one of the prime reasons for the switch.
