The limited-time contract in LIV Golf is coming to an end as the 2024 season is about to conclude. With the possibility of relegation, golfers will have to maintain themselves in a great spot to not get relegated and extend their contract. A similar possibility has arrived for the 4Aces team and the captain will be taking the decision. The team should consist of 4 players, but with the new trade from RangeGoats, it has become difficult for Dustin Johnson with five players now in the team.

As per the latest report, 4Aces have acquired Thomas Pieters from the RangeGoats. To have a new direction for the team and have younger talents, the decision seems great. But, now the team has five members including Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Harold Varner III, and Pat Perez. However, the team could only keep four players and RangeGoats will not be receiving any player from the 4Aces. It comes down to the decision of the relegation of one player.

A tough call for Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson, as the captain, will have to take the tough call. While Thomas Pieter has joined in, he will be part of the team for the coming event. And the others will be dependent on the contract term. Patrick Reed and Harold Varner III’s contract is through 2025, putting them in a safe spot for the team. However, Pat Perez’s contract is ending by the 2024 season. He is at the risk of relegation.

Even away from the course, the player had a tough time in life with separation from his wife, Ashley, earlier this year. Now, with another blow coming at him, will he be able to get through it?

Pat Perez is currently placed in the 48th position, which does not guarantee him a spot on the team. But there is a possibility for him with the current position. However, to secure his place, he will have to play well and get into the top 24 spots. The situation is not new for the golfer as something similar happened last year as well. Perez had to negotiate a deal with captain Johnson to play this year. Well, the same scenario could repeat next year as well.

Even Perez knows what the future holds for him if he plays well. Here is what he said about the ranking, “If I play well … in order to get into the top 24, I’d actually have to win.” Additionally expressing how he would feel if not get the desired result he shared, “It’s not that I don’t care. But I won’t be heartbroken. If it happens, it happens. If I stay in the top 48, DJ might keep me. Who knows?”
