Golf tends to be a calm and composed sport where adrenaline rarely makes a move. However, the generation we live in tends to throw up unexpected outcomes, with fist fights on a golf course being one of them.

The most recent public beating took place at the Bailey Ranch in Owasso, Oklahoma, where two sets of grown men had a scuffle together. But the reasons for the fight will leave you in splits.

Oklahoma witnesses unorganized golf fight

The incident was first reported by sports reporter T.J. Eckert, who posted a video of a fight breaking out on a golf course. On closer inspection, two factions were seen having an unorganized battle with their bare fists.

As revealed later, the situation had more depth than met the eye. According to the reporter himself, the brawl began when a group of golfers asked some children to keep their distance from the turf to avoid getting hit by the balls.

However, they were retaliated against by their mothers, who began yelling at the grown-ups and making threatening signs towards them. But little did they know about the identities  the golfers.

In short, the amateur golfers were former MMA fighters who were trained for these types of hand combats for years. But after their spouses challenged them to a brawl, the poor fathers were left taking a trashing from the skilled men.

The scuffle lasted merely a few seconds as the group of golfers made light work of their opponents. The video footage of the fight was taken by an unknown person behind a golf cart. Appropriately, netizens fumed over the brawl, claiming numerous reasons for such occurrences. Here’s a selection of those tweets:

While the repercussions of the incident remained unknown, one can debate the victims of the whole situation. While the former MMA fighters were right to scoot away the children from the course, the unfancied fathers didn’t stand a chance and were forced to wrestle against unknown men thanks to their spouses’ words.
