Golf may not have had the best of histories in the video game world when compared to others, but it is a sport like no other in reality. But, interestingly, there is one game that has raked in a lot of acclaim where one can play the sport with a tinge of “humor” on the side. The Grand Theft Auto franchise, popularly known as GTA, has included golf as a minigame in its storyline since the release of Vice City.

But now, gamers are enjoying themselves on the golf course in the online version of the GTA V video game in a different manner than how it was meant to be. And a recent video of a group of friends playing golf in Grand Theft Auto Online has gone viral, with many fans of the sport and the game having much to say.

Strange golf drives in GTA Online go viral

The video game has many fun activities to do if the players get tired of completing missions in the actual storyline of GTA V or heists in the online version. While many can engage in tasks such as wildlife photography or stunt racing, fans of the sport can take part in a relaxing minigame of golf. And that is what a group of four did, as they had fun in their own manner on the course in-game.

In a video uploaded by the content creator and streamer ItssMrO, the quartet can be seen playing the game at the LS Golf Club. The players were seen enjoying themselves in a sort of violent play as they tried to make the golf ball hit the other golfers while driving it.

Each of the players made sure to align the tracker with the heads of the other in-game avatars while teeing off the balls. While three of them were able to drive the ball to the fairway, roughs, or greens, the fourth one drove the ball outside the links on the road. The streamers were very excited as they made fun of and taunted each other while aiming the wrong way in a bid to hit themselves.

The game can be played with up to four players over a total of nine holes. One needs to go to the Los Santos Country Golf Club to start the game of golf. The rules are pretty much the same as the sport in reality, where the player has to hole the ball in as few strokes as possible. Moreover, the minigame in GTA Online is very fun to play because of the simple interface it boasts. And the golf world certainly agrees with that as well!

The semi-violent game clip rakes in a lot of attention

Although the video game was released a long time ago, new content is being produced with each passing day. The video that was uploaded recently brought in many reactions from fans and enthusiasts of the game and the sport, as they had fun watching the four friends tease each other as they made their tee shots in the goriest manner possible.
