It was not long ago when LIV Golf defector Phil Mickelson said that the PGA Tour was trending downwards while LIV was going up. The golfer seemed pretty confident with his remarks. However, PGA Tour legend Rory McIlroy did not agree with Lefty’s comments.

In a recent press conference, McIlroy said“I don’t agree with what Phil said last week…I understand why he said it because of the position he is in, but I don’t think anyone that takes a logical view of the game of golf can agree with what he said.”

According to McIlroy, the statement that the PGA Tour is in its declining phase was not correct. However, from the fans’ perspectives, there are various points of view on the situation. On the one hand, only a few talented players remain on the PGA Tour. And on the other hand, LIV Golf has no spectators to watch the talented players it features. Hence, only time will be the judge of what happens next in the world of golf.
