Tiger Woods doesn’t have many friends in the golf community. But at the same time, there aren’t many players who have had feuds with the golf legend. Moreover, there is a certain respect Woods has earned among all his fellow golf professionals. However, there was a time when Woods was caught in a controversy about arguing with LIV Golf rebel, Sergio Garcia.

The infamous feud between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia
Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia have had a strained relationship in the past. While Woods is one of the strongest supporters of the PGA Tour, Garcia is officially part of LIV Golf. But the two were in the news together a long time ago during The Players Championship back in 2013.

It was during the tournament that Garcia found his fellow tour pro guilty of distracting him before swinging his club. According to Garcia’s claim, Woods could be a little considerate before pulling his club out of the bag during the third round. After the two-hour delay due to bad weather, Garcia blamed his imperfect swing on the timing when Woods pulled his club out.
But Garcia’s blame game didn’t stop just there. Rather, he said, “Well, obviously, Tiger was on the left, and it was my shot to hit,”. It was obvious for the crowd to follow Woods during his game. But Garcia thought it was Woods’ fault to cause the commotion during his shot. He said, “I think he must have pulled like a 5-wood or a 3-wood and obviously everybody started screaming.”
What was Woods’ reaction to Garcia’s claim?
Woods did not agree with Garcia’s claim about his actions. Rather, the golf legend had a completely different stand about the situation. According to what Woods said, he was not surprised by the fact that Garcia was complaining about something on the field. “Obviously, he doesn’t know all the facts,” Woods said. “The marshals told me he had already hit. I pulled the club and played my shot. Then I hear his comments afterward. Not really surprising that he’s complaining about something.”

However, Garcia continued to blame the golfer. Moreover, he justified his claims by explaining how he tried to be careful while doing anything on the field. And that he shows respect toward every other player playing alongside him. It was clearly a taunt towards the 15-time major winner about not being considerate enough. But Tiger Woods remained unaffected by what Garcia had to say.
