The strokeplay on the Malaysian greens has been head-to-head, with players fighting for the top spot with very little difference in the scores. The event has seen good gameplay as big LPGA names like Rose Zhang, Celine Boutier, Danielle Kang, and Meghan Khang, just after two days of showdown, have made it to the top 20 of the tourney already.

Playing for the $3,000,000 purse, players have their own charms accompanying them to the greens. Rose Zhang sat down for a Q&A session with the media after her game, and when asked about her new lucky charm, a close associate of Danielle Kang popped up as Zhang’s answer turned some heads in the room.

At the press conference after the match, Zhang answered questions related to her performance on the greens at the Maybank Championship. The golfer was asked about her caddie, Ollie Brett, who worked for many years with Danielle Kang, and now seems to be working with the 20-year-old. Admitting to having fun playing with Brett, she said, “Ollie is incredible.”

Talking about her relationship with the caddie, the player added that she always knew the two were compatible because Brett is a wonderful person. She added, “I knew he was a great person, to begin with, so when we kind of got together and talked a little bit about the game. I just felt like everything clicked.”

Continuing, the young player added, “I’m really happy that he’s on my bag this week. We’re just having a good time.”

It sure does seem like Zhang is having a good time on the greens, especially considering her performance so far on the maiden tourney. Here’s a quick glimpse of how she’s been on the course.
