‘Extremely Bold’: Golf World Reacts to Greg Norman’s $300M Announcement
There seems to be a new golf series on the way. In an Asian Tour and Greg Norman collaboration, players will have a chance to compete in exactly ten events in an international series. Having said that, new series and events have been announced from time to time, many even trying to compete with the PGA Tour.
This recent announcement from the people on the Tour has had fans reacting online. With a lot of money involved, the series will be following along with the Asian Tour schedule. Norman’s investment in the project can only be seen as an interesting aspect, which is another point fans seemed to react to.

The new series will be a result of $300 million being invested by LIV Golf Investments. They are shareholders of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) and will end up offering million-dollar cash prizes.

More on Norman’s $300M series
Initially announced in November, this announcement observes a $100 million jump. Having said that, the first event will be the $1.5 million ‘The International Series Thailand’ tournament.
This will be held at the Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin. Other places like Hertfordshire, South Korea, the Middle East, Indonesia, and China are also included on the schedule.

“The International Series is a new upper-tier of elite events, the likes of which the region has not seen before, that will mark the start of a phenomenal period of growth for the Asian Tour,” said Asian Tour’s Commissioner and CEO Cho Minn Thant.

Norman added that it will be a ‘new force on the world golf stage’. According to 66-year-old, everyone from pros to amateurs to communities will benefit from this. “I’ve never been so optimistic about the future of the sport”.
