Fans Are Loving Tiger Woods’ Return, But Continue to Fume Over a Major Disappointment

There is no doubt that fans are happy with the latest comeback of Tiger Woods. They loved how he would tee up his first event of the year at the Genesis Invitational. They loved his mindset to win at every event he would play in, despite not being completely healthy body. The golf world also was impressed with his form during the practice session at Riviera. However, there is one thing that didn’t sit well with fans about the legend’s long-anticipated comeback.

Fans are left disheartened by Tiger Woods and his choice of shoes at Riviera

Since his debut, Nike has always been a part of Tiger Woods’s career. While many sponsors left the golf legend when he saw a lump in his career, the multi-billion sports apparel brand stuck by him. However, from the photos and videos circulating all over the internet from his practice session at Riviera, it is revealed that he is not wearing Nike shoes but FootJoy’s.

Notably, this was not the first time Woods had worn FootJoy to a tournament. In fact, he has been wearing it since his comeback after his death-defying accident of 2021. The legend revealed the shoes he picked were letting him become more stable on his legs as an explanation for ditching Nike over FootJoy.

It’s been a year since this, and the 15-time major champion is still not back in sporting Nike. This made fans concerned. After David Dusek of Golf Week pointed out the same with an Instagram post, fans expressed their disappointment with Nike for not designing comfortable shoes for the golf legend:

“Nike has dropped the ball on this in so many ways!”

“Crazy that Nike hasn’t been able to build him a shoe similar to this.”

“It’s a line in the sand now.”

“How has Nike not made a shoe that he can wear?? 🤷🏻”

Recently, Woods and Nike announced that they are bringing back popular Nike Free-based TW13 shoes. Many had anticipated that the Hall of Famer would wear them at the Genesis Invitational. Hence, Tiger not wearing them brought disappointment to the fans:

“Wonder if he’ll bust out the TW13’s that are being re-released.”

“He just came out $240 Nike shoes and don’t even wear it!?? 😮😂”
