After a two-week break, Brooks Koepka returns to the green at the $25 million Jeddah event. After his team’s loss at the Ryder Cup, this is the first time Koepka is performing. And it looks like he is not over the sting he got in Rome.
While playing in the first round today, the hot air mic caught some of Koepka’s frustration, which he voiced using profanity during the course, and it has left fans amused. Let’s take a look at what Koepka had to say.

Brooks Koepka’s outburst at the Jeddah event
Brooks Koepka went to the Ryder Cup with big hopes of fulfilling his patriotic dreams and bringing home the cup. But unfortunately, despite their best attempts, he and his team lost. And it looks like Koepka is still healing from the burns he received there.
He is headed to the Middle East for the LIV Jeddah event this week. The temperature there is high, so Koepka is wearing black half pants and a loose T-shirt instead of trousers. And during one of his final rounds, which he made from a sand-filled bunker, Koepka’s ball ended up a few feet away from the hole.
On this, Koepka reacted with anger at himself, and as he stepped out of the bunker, he murmured, “F***ing Dumb**. Motherf****r.” His profanity-laden words were caught on the hot mic. The commentator said, “Such a difficult bunker shot,” and tried to defend him.

Fans feel it wasn’t even that hard a shot, and Koepka could have done better.
One fan thinks that there should be more hot mics so that more such moments could be captured.

Another chided the announcer, who tried to defend Koepka, and said he could have made the shot had he wanted to.

If it was truly a “difficult bunker shot”, he would t be calling himself a “dumbass”. Good try by the broadcast team. But what really happened was one of the best players in the world just hit a really crappy shot.
