At the Texas Children’s Houston Open, Scottie Scheffler was in contention for all four days and expected to card his third back-to-back victory. However, the run from Stephan Jaeger kept him one stroke away from victory as he earned his maiden victory. It was indeed not a happy ending for Scheffler’s last few weeks of the campaign (win-win-2nd).

However, despite the loss, his wife, Meredith Scheffler, showed what sportsmanship looks like as she celebrated and congratulated Jaeger’s wife for his victory. The PGA Tour posted an adorable moment shared between the two wives as Scheffler’s wife went to hug Shelby Jaeger. Meredith Scheffler expressed how happy she was for Jaeger to get his first victory on the Tour.

She said, “So happy for you! I was cheering him up as I was watching him.” Furthermore, as the two chatted about the game and complimented each husband’s game, Meredith Scheffler noted that Jaeger was so calm during the moment and just encouraged Shelby. J to soak it all in.

It was not at all expected from Meredith Scheffler to celebrate Stephan Jaeger’s win, despite Scheffler missing to make a record of carding a three-peat. Mrs. Scheffler’s unexpected and kind gesture did not go unnoticed, and along with garnering a lot of appreciation from the golf world, Meredith also found some new fans as well.
