Temperatures are running high at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in Jeddah. After Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith suffered an ugly meltdown on the course and was caught swearing on the hot mic.

Currently, Smith, along with Talor Gooch and Bryson DeChambeau are locked in a three-way battle for individual glory at the end of the season. Coming to Jeddah, the Aussie golfer had an upper hand over his close competitors. However, in the Bride of the Red Sea, the 30-year-old golfer is slowly losing his grip over the title and his temper.

Cameron Smith lost his temper after missing a birdie putt

Talor, Smith, and De Chambeau are the only three players who have a shot at the individual prize at LIV Jeddah. An individual title win will mean an extra $18.4M in cash for the golfer. 

Cameron Smith, currently at 170 points had an eight-point lead going to LIV Golf Jeddah with Talor Gooch of RangeGoats GC, snapping at his heels with 162 points. De Chambeau seemed a longshot with 142 points. But the equation has changed in the last two days and that has enraged the Australian international.

Smith, then positioned at no. 17 on the leaderboard, narrowly missed a birdie putt at par 4 hole 14. While Gooch came after him and swiftly cupped the ball surging ahead to the fifth spot. On the hot mic, the Australian pros’ frustration was palpable. In a muffled voice, a disgruntled Smith cried out, “Get f**king one cup”. Wheels were coming off of six-time PGA-Tour winner as he was later seen slamming his club on his bag while leaving the course.

The Hot Mic has caught some serious profanity from pro golfers. Yesterday it was Brooks Koepka who was caught in a self-rant after his bunker shot fell in a wayward position.

Brooks Koepka’s ugly meltdown at LIV Jeddah

Brooks Koepka was the leading today at the top spot, in the venue where last year he claimed his first LIV victory. However, yesterday, the 33-year-old golfer struggled to find his footing in the Arabian soil. In one of his final rounds, he tried to chip a shot straight to the hole from a sand bunker. The ball, however, stopped a few feet short.

Koepka went on a profanity-laden self-rant. “F***ing Dumb**. Motherf****r”, the golfer was caught murmuring in the hot mic. The clip of his verbal rage became viral on social media.

Smith’s poor performance at the LIV Jeddah has left the door ajar for Talor Gooch to slide into the top position ahead of the season finale in Miami. The LIV star’s frustration was for good reason. Unfortunately, the one-time Major winner has only himself to blame.
