Keeping this in mind, Thompson was once asked if she was keeping count while playing. Her reaction is what shocked most.

Thompson recently played at the Pelican Golf Club playing the Pelican Women’s championship. She and Nelly Korda were playing against one another in a way by the end of the game. They were both very close to one another. However, Nelly Korda ended up winning the game and securing her position as the world number one in Women’s professional golf.
During one of the interviews, Lexi was asked how aware she was at the end, and whether she kept a count of the scores between her and Nelly. Considering, it’s a golf cliche that it comes down to a match-play situation.

Lexi said, “I actually didn’t know. I made a few bogeys on the back but then bounced back with a few birdies, and I figured I was somewhat kind of up there, but I tried not to focus on it at all and just really focus on my own shots, one shot at a time and what I’ve been working on with my game.”
She added, “That’s all I could do. So focusing on other people wasn’t going to do me any good.”
The shift in Lexi’s mindset is clearly apparent in her game. She has become freer in the way she plays. Thompson remains to be a living inspiration to pro golfers around the world.
Even though Nelly Korda won the event, and Lexi finished second, her way of viewing things is what interests followers the most.
Thompson once took a break from social media following her encounter with a former POTUS
Things don’t always turn out to be as expected for any of us, including Thompson. She once had to take a break from social media posts receiving ‘hurtful’ comments. This instance occurred after she played a round of golf with President Donald Trump and talk-show host Rush Limbaugh a couple of years back.
As per sources, the sensational pro golfer joined to play with the aforementioned at the Trump International Golf Club. The photos of this meet-up were shared by the White House on social media. This spurred a line of comments from viewers all around. While some were in her support, most were hurtful which prompted Lexi to step back.

She wrote, “Hey everybody, just want to say I will be taking a break from social media. If I post it will be from my management team for me. I’m too involved with it, and to read some of the hurtful things being said to me lately isn’t fair and I’m not dealing with it. Thank you to my true fans out there I will be back on but I’m going to be focusing on me right now and my life. Thanks for understanding.”
Social media and its impact on the mental health of people in the spotlight are multifold. The fact that even someone at the peak of her career like Thompson had to step back and take a break from the hurtful comments proves how social media is a tougher field to play for all of us.
